Who we are

Nourra is operated by Oleg Ptukh, an individual app developer based in Ukraine (the "data controller"). This policy explains what the Nourra app and website collect, why, and the rights you have. Questions: oleg.ptuh@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account details such as email, Apple/Google sign-in identifiers, profile data, dietary diary records, meal times, water and weight progress, recipe inputs, purchases, Premium entitlement data, and AI usage counters.

Meal photos, ingredient photos, voice/text food logs, and profile photos are processed only when you choose to use those features.

Technical and usage data such as app version, device language, diagnostics, crash reports, and privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics.

Health-related data

Some information you enter — dietary records, weight, and optional Apple Health data — may relate to your health. Where this is treated as a special category of personal data, we process it only with your consent and only to provide the features you choose to use. You can stop at any time by not using those features and by deleting your data in the app.

How the data is used

• To provide food logging, water tracking, glycemic index context, recipe planning, shopping lists, and weight progress.
• To authenticate accounts and keep data separate for each user.
• To process AI photo analysis, AI recipe generation, and AI nutritionist-style diary feedback.
• To validate Premium access, AI Boost credits, purchases, and fair-use limits.
• To improve reliability through diagnostics, abuse prevention, and support.

Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the app), on the basis of your consent (AI features, photos, health-related data, notifications), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, and improving reliability), and to comply with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Third parties we use

We share the minimum data needed with service providers who process it on our behalf: Apple (sign-in, payments, and optional Apple Health), Google (optional sign-in), our AI provider (OpenAI) to analyze meal photos and generate AI responses, and our hosting/infrastructure provider (Railway). We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers (for example, our AI provider) may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete your data in the app at any time; once deleted, it is removed from active systems and residual copies in backups are overwritten on a rolling basis. AI requests are processed transiently to return your result.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK under the GDPR and California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, email oleg.ptuh@gmail.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Nourra is not intended for children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

The app includes export and deletion controls. You can also avoid optional AI photo, voice, notification, HealthKit, and profile photo features.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
